Washed coffee
Regarding taste, these beans are as the processing method reveals - cleaner. Using machines and water, the fruit flesh is carefully washed off the bean before they are left to soak in water for a while to dissolve all the remaining fruit flesh. Afterwards, the beans are dried. There is a variation in the exact method of washing coffee from country to country depending on customs, culture, and access to equipment.
In addition to washed beans being cleaner in taste than other processing methods, they usually have a higher acidity. Most of the beans we sell are washed.
