Colombia El Obraje Castillo - Pablo Guerrero 250g
Colombia El Obraje Castillo - Pablo Guerrero 250g
Pablo Guerrero, who owns the El Obraje farm, has been growing coffee since 2000 and began focusing on specialty coffee around 2009 when he expanded his farm with the ability to process his own coffee. This has allowed Pablo to improve the quality of his coffee and now grow world-class coffee.
The location of El Obraje gives the coffee its unique character. For example, the temperature on the farm varies from 32 degrees during the day to around 8 degrees at night. The drastic daily temperature changes affect the density of the coffee beans and make the trees smaller and more compact than trees of the same variety in other regions of Colombia. El Obraje often does not receive enough rain and has to irrigate selected areas with water from the farm's own pond.
When we first cupped El Obraje Caturra down at the roastery, we immediately realized that this is a coffee we will want to drink a lot of ourselves. The coffee has fun notes of tropical fruits and is what many would say, "crispy".
Feel free to brew it as V60 and let it drop in temperature to experience the coffee to the fullest.
If it's a hot day, El Obraje Caturra is an excellent coffee to drink as a cold brew.
